including how to use our express delivery system for your requirements.
Email marketing is not SPAM
People like to receive emails from familiar places rather than offers that they did
not want or ask for, which is referred to as SPAM, or also known as Unsolicited Bulk
Email (UBE) or Unsolicited Commercial Email (UCE).
Why email marketing is not SPAM is because it is a consent based method of staying
in touch on a periodic bases directed towards valued loyal returning subscribers,
customers or members who specifically desire to receive news about the same
relevant subject matter that they originally signed up to receive from you, your
company, organization or membership group.
Who Needs Email Marketing?
The answer is: Anyone that has to deal with the public can incorporate email marketing
services, such as those that Viper Mailer provides. Here are some of our easy to
produce and frequently applied email marketing service features that include:
- The powers to produce a colorful and graphic template or message that will
help you present a very professional outward appearance to your recipients.
- Email list management that is simpler to routinely maintain and keep your
contact list accurate while never allowing a recipient to receive the same
message twice.
- Email delivery to your recipients that is extremely more qualified than
using your personal computer to do these important tasks, generally
restricted by your ISP’s when sending more then 50 or more messages.
- The tracking results of your email recipients, including opens and click
through actions.
Email marketing services are used by anyone that seeks to get results.
- Manufacturers that release a new product or service
- Single retailers, distributors, or national chains that might offer new,
reduced, or discounted items for sale.
- Groups, clubs, non-profits, Chamber of Commerce or business membership clubs.
- Art dealers announcing the release of a new piece or the signing of a new
artist.
- Automobile manufacturers or individual car dealerships directed towards
previous buyers.
- Hotels, tourism, golf courses and theatres regularly offer (out of season)
weekday specials to return clients.
Truthfully anyone and everyone can simply with ease, employ email marketing
including you. |

Collect legitimate email addresses from clients or people interested in your related
offerings.
The person, whose email address you're collecting, needs to essentially understand
that these email addresses are to present your offerings to them from time to time,
like once a month. We suggest you have them check a box on a form that they fill
out or have a signup window to accept future relevant offers on your website.
Create a weekly routine or system for adding these new email address signups to your
account automatically at ViperMailer.com
Store a copy of these authorizations in a safe place so that you can always prove these
signups. By having people signup to receive future information about your offerings,
they are authorizing you to send them email offers at a future date. Because they are
what the industry calls "Opt-In" signups, this is not considered SPAM. Be sure that
what they have consented to accept is what you will be offering them later.
If you have questions about what SPAM is or is not, please visit our Anti-Spam
Policies website page at
Email Marketing Anti-SPAM Policy
to obtain additional information. |

Sending an email message should be a loyal returning client special offer.
Our best tip is to be objective, prepare an offer that you yourself would desire
to receive and that you would jump on the opportunity to be offered.
You might consider a link to enter a "Free Contest" on your general website, or
you might want to include "Limited Time Offer" details. However, be cautious;
it is important to build some level of a relationship with your recipients.
Also, most people receive their emails at work and adding demand to someones
day may not be wise.
Build educational and helpful hints into your messages (trust building) that
lead to the person gaining knowledge. Then you may also provide a "Call to Action"
in your message. Basically, email message sending is personal, so it is best to
walk softly.
Newsletters Layout and Frequency
When building an informative newsletters, the recipient perhaps, is a loyal
subscriber that trusts the information that they are receiving from you through your
email campaign. However, they might not be interested in all that you are offering, so
it is important to create a top of the page (above the fold but below the header)
newsletter directory of category titles with links to the various articles within
the newsletter.
Keeping your newsletter to a single, 8.5" x 11.0" size piece of paper with outbound
links to the additional details of the articles on your website will greatly assist
you in encouraging your recipients to take an action.
We rarely recommended that you send more than 1 newsletter per month. Although in the
two cases below, we feature a couple of clients that are exceptions to the rule. These
clients must send out newsletters more often because of the type of information being
furnished. You should review your own newsletter content and then decide the frequency
that your subscribers need to receive the information that you are offering.
We recommend that your offer or newsletter be a colorful and graphic-enhanced offering.
For branding and for immediate recognition, we suggest selecting a picture or image
header (the old story of a picture is worth a thousand words is true), which also
displays your name, company color, or brand to immediately catch the eye of your
recipients.
If you are sending an offer, get right to the point. For example, "2 for 1 Special",
"Carla's Chocolate Candies Misses You" or "Logic's Desert Hotel 2 Nights for the
Price of 1", etc.
Provide an additional hook story (for example: We have a new flavor of candy, our
weather has never been better, etc.) below this main message. Then provide a link
to your website's landing page or a toll free number where your offer is provided
with all of the details to ultimately conclude a sale. |
|
|
We all receive our share of emails each day.
Through our experience, we recommend that you make your offers exciting.
Additionally, and once a month is all you should send your offers out. Although
your recipients may love your offers, you may not want them to feel overwhelmed
by over-messaging them.
Here are a few exceptions to the once-a-month rule, where we explain how these
exceptions might fit into your operation.
Client 1
Carla's Chocolate Logo Candies Company may be seasonal or holiday driven. In this
case she might desire to release 2 or more email messages in a single month.
However, on a non-holiday or non-seasonal month she might send a general awareness
or greeting offer, just to be sure that she stays in touch with her customers.
Client 2
Global Trucking is a national trucking industry publication and a vast majority
of their subscriber base lives on the road. The publication sends the domestic
diesel fuel prices by county, region and state so this information is essential
on a regular basis to keep the fuel prices in front of their subscribers at all
times. |

What is an email "Subject Line"?
The "Subject Line" is the area in your email "Inbox" next to the "From Address"
and it is really an important area that will determine whether your recipient
will open your message or delete it.
The maximum amount of characters you should use in the "Subject Line" box is 50,
including that spaces, because this covers the amount of characters that a recipient
can typically view in their email "Inbox" field.
We recommend that you be creative and at the same time, please realize that you do
not want to trigger the recipients SPAM filter. Thus, a careful choice of words is
necessary.
Now you have just built the greatest email message with a great offer and you are now
ready to send it to your email list. Now is the time to define the "Subject Line".
In the "Subject Line", you could place your company name or product name, but ask
yourself this question first: How do my customers or members know me best? Answer
that question, and make it your "Subject Line".
Subject Line Caution Note
What would occur if you wrote for example, "Cheapest Prices Ever" or "Free Blue Pills"
into the subject line? The email might come through as SPAM, or it would not be
immediately recognized be your recipient as coming from you. Your email would more
than likely be deleted if it arrived at all, for sure.
Now let's compare this to our next example, and let's assume that you own Carla's
Chocolate Logo Candies Company. A successful email subject line might read like
this:
"Carla's Chocolate Christmas Order Reminder"
You can see the subject line would be identified immediately, because your message is
familiar to the recipient. The customer has visited or purchased from
"Carla's Chocolate Logo Candies", so they would most likely identify with your
offering.
You would also more than likely not be submitted to a SPAM filter or a Blacklist.
(See what a Blacklist is at
Anti-SPAM Blacklisting)
What is an email's "From Address"?
The "From Address" is in your email next to the "Subject Line", and it shows
the recipient who sent the email. When done correctly, it actually answers what you
are sending, which ensures that, as the recipient skims through their email's "Inbox",
they do not mistakenly delete your message or send it to SPAM.
Below at the bottom of this document, there are links to the Email Marketing
Knowledge database where you can learn in greater detail, how your email address
can work to add power to your message's open rate. We strongly encourage you to
read up on this topic. |

We have occasionally seen email campaigns fail because of an all too important part
of preparing to send out an email to their loyal following. We call this the "The
Welcome Mat" reminder.
Before the email marketing campaign begins, be sure that you have an offer like, "Call
our toll free number and mention the July Savings" (Be sure that your phone staff is
aware, pleasant and prepared to answer the incoming calls.) Or, perhaps, in your email
massage, you have a website landing page with a link to your special offer page within
your website.
Example: You are Carla's Chocolate Logo Candies and your main website page is
carlaschocolatecandies.com. You would need a website page and a website link
in your email. In this case your link would then appear something like this:
www.CarlasChocolateCandies.com/SpecialOffer
This method brings your customer directly to a website page, providing a personal
feel of a custom page just for your recipients. A true "Call to Action" will result. |

If you implement the step-by-step guidelines as detailed on this page, your email
campaign will bear fruit.
Preparing for a Successful Email Campaign
After sending out your email message, it is received by your recipients, you still
haven't generated any sales. This is now the time to review your offer, subject
line, and other marketing details before sending out another email so that you
can become more knowledgeable and more objective towards developing your next and
even greater offer for the upcoming month.
Remember, it's very important that if your first email attempt bears no fruit,
please do not just turn around and send the same email to your list of recipients
as your credibility may be at stake here or worse; many of your recipients may
unsubscribe from your list.
Wait for the next message send date or recommended coming month, instead of
trying again in the following day or two. Your offer should, with effort and
refinement, look fresh and genuine. Not to mention we do not want you to upset
your customers by sending too many emails.
